Prenez part aux évènements d'ouverture de l'exposition Musica ex Machina à EPFL Pavilions | Join us at EPFL Pavilions for the opening events of the Musica ex Machina exhibition.

Du 18 au 22 février 2025, des ateliers de codage informatique seront proposés au jeune public pour s’initier à la composition de la musique algorithmique, c’est-à-dire une musique générée par un ensemble de règles mathématiques et une part d’aléatoire.Lors de cet atelier créé par le Service des Promotions des Sciences de l’EPFL (SPS), les musicien·nes et mathématicien·nes en herbe apprendront à utiliser le langage de programmation Scratch pour créer des musiques électroniques originales.Une visite guidée de l’exposition Musica ex Machina: Machines Thinking Musically précédera l’atelier afin d’introduire les jeunes visiteurs à l’histoire millénaire de la musique algorithmique.Une petite collation sera offerte à la fin de l’activité. From 18 to 22 February 2025, computer coding workshops will be held for young people to learn how to compose algorithmic music, i.e. music generated by a set of mathematical rules and a degree of randomness.In this workshop created by the EPFL Science Outreach Department (SPS), budding musicians and mathematicians will learn how to use the Scratch programming language to create original electronic music.A guided tour of the exhibition Musica ex Machina: Machines Thinking Musically will precede the workshop to introduce young visitors to the thousand-year-old history of algorithmic music.A light snack will be offered at the end of the activity.
