Authenticity in culinary delights, starting with a light Apero and traditional Ukrainian dishes accompanied with some drinks, will bring us into the spirit of connecting and learning from those who experienced adversity in life.

Our theme for this event is creativity and gratitude. We are all aware that people of the Ukraine had suffered tremendously in the last months and therefore we felt that celebrating life is an important part of moving forward.

Who is Kapusta Foundation

Thanks to philanthropist and art lover Stephan Renner from Switzerland and Ukrainian art activist Hanna Humeniuc it was possible to save more than 60 art pieces which Hanna has brought with her to Switzerland escaping from the terror in Ukraine which started 24.02.2022. From this moment the idea was born to create a structure, which could help Ukrainian artists in this existential situation and save Ukranian art from destruction.

Visual culture is never neutral, and thus it is never without value. It is on visual culture that our parents and grandparents grew up. It is the visual history from our countries that formed us to the personalities that we are. Today the issue of preservation and transmission of the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people to the next generation is more important than ever.

This initially spontaneous Swiss-Ukrainian initiative has become our mission and in the middle of March 2022 has taken a formal shape with the established of KAPUSTA Foundation. The first project of KAPUSTA Foundation was a charity auction on 19.03.2022 in St. Moritz with the art works of Ukrainian artist Antonina Denisiuc. With the revenues from this auction we could further save more than 450 art pieces and in addition support artists in their current existential struggle in Ukraine. We are not stopping and continue to work for a free and safe future.

The foundation KAPUSTA pursues nonprofit activities in support of Ukrainian artists, including those still in Ukraine, those trying to escape, and those in exile. An additional goal is to protect art works in Ukraine from destruction and bring them to safety. The foundation provides artists with a platform to publicly exhibit and sell their works world wide. A part of the proceeds go directly to the artists, another part feeds the activities of the association and is used exclusively for nonprofit purposes.

KAPUSTA in Ukrainian language means cabbage - this symbol is found in almost all countries of the world. In cabbage we find children, it is a symbol of love, happiness, health and prosperity. With this symbol we unite all caring people who care with us for the future of Ukraine and its people! Together we are strong!
