How can we make sure patients benefit from the newest developments?Michaela Slotwinski (Postdoctoral researcher, @ Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Basel & Centre for European Economic Research, Mannheim)What if She Earns More? Quantitative research in the social sciences and economics often relies on survey data. What if social norms affect response behaviour?Lisa-Christina Winter (Senior Product Researcher @ Chatroulette)Psycho-Segmentation: Becoming Your Customer's Best FriendCan we know our potential customers better than our close friends? And how can we use this "digital friendship" to our advantage in marketing? With thin boarders between technical brilliance and ethical constraints, psycho targeting offers an impressive use case for marketing and product development.Elliott Ash (Assistant Professor of Law, Economics, and Data Science @ ETH Zurich)Language as a Window into Judicial BiasesAre judges really neutral in their decisions? Thanks to new developments in natural language processing, judicial opinion text can now reveal how judges are influenced by emotions, ideology, and personal values.
