E.A.T./ ENGADIN ART TALKS 2019 "GRACE & GRAVITY"
Event Information
Description
The 2019 art year starts with the renowned E.A.T./Engadin Art Talks - the art, architecture, design, film, science and literature forum and festival which takes place 26 and 27 January 2019 in Zuoz, Engadin.
This year we will explore the contradictory forces GRACE & GRAVITY. How do gravity and grace define current-day life in the digital age?
A meeting of two conflicting forces: on one hand, the idea of mass and gravity, and all the power that draws us earthwards; on the other, the unburdened fluidity of grace and elegance, which bring the positive momentum of beauty into play.
Creative thinkers from a variety of fields the world over pick up the ball and engage with this subject through short presentations and in conversation in front of an interested public. Speakers include:
CECILIA BENGOLEA, FRANCESCO BONAMI, ARNO BRANDLHUBER, ELIZABETH DILLER, RAVIT HELLED, LENA HENKE, THOMAS HIRSCHHORN, ISABEL NOLAN, SMILJAN RADIC, CHARLOTTE RAMPLING, TOMÁS SARACENO, HEJI SHIN, JUERGEN TELLER
The panel discussions will be led by Daniel Baumann (Director of the Kunsthalle Zurich), Bice Curiger (Artistic Director of the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles), Hans Ulrich Obrist (Artistic Director of the Serpentine Gallery in London) and Philip Ursprung (Professor for Art and Architectural History at the ETH Zurich).
