On 23 July 2025, the International Court of Justice delivered its long-awaited Advisory Opinion on the obligations of States in relation to climate change — a milestone in the evolution of international climate law and a powerful step forward for communities on the frontlines.
This event will bring together members of Geneva’s international community — including diplomats, civil society, youth advocates, and academics — to reflect on this ruling and explore its implications.
🎬 Through YUMI: The Whole World, an inspiring documentary following Pacific Island students as they lead a global campaign to seek climate justice through the world’s highest court, participants will retrace the steps of this remarkable journey from its very beginning.
🗣️The screening will be followed by a public discussion with high-level speakers to reflect on how the ICJ ruling can shape our collective efforts going forward.
