Led by Heartbrut, the exciting city safari tour takes you from the National Museum to Swissmill Tower, along Platzspitz Park and hip summer hangout Letten Canal. Your host and tour guide is Karin Bürki. The writer and artist runs Heartbrut.

This popular urban oasis has a colourful past and was a favourite haunt of Irish writer James Joyce during his exile in Zurich.

Lido Culture & Letten Canal

Let's dive into the epicentre of Zurich's truly unique and vibrant lido scene. Sights include the Upper and Lower Letten Lidos, river bars, an enigmatic red observation tower and highlights of early Zurich modernism.

Tanzhaus & Swissmill Tower

Designed by acclaimed Barcelona studio Barozzi/Veiga, Tanzhaus is a striking recycled concrete structure housing a dance academy and a popular café. A stark, 118-metre neobrutalist exclamation mark and grain silo, Swissmill Tower has lifted industrial architecture in Zurich West to new, airy heights.

Last stop: Markthalle / Viaduct

Explore the Markthalle food hall and the independent shops along the Viadukt arches at your leisure.

Please note The safari takes place in all weathers. The terrain is mostly flat and wheelchair friendly. We will view most of the buildings from the outside.

HEARTBRUT navigates the sweet spot between art, stereotype-busting and public service. The brainchild of Zurich-based author Karin Bürki, the genre-fluid format draws inspiration from the bold and fearless attitude of Brutalist architecture.
