About this event

Lightning Talk

What? Closing the DREAM GAP in tech - empowering the next generation of scientists and engineers

Who? Scilla Roncallo, Executive Director Little Scientists Switzerland & David Cleres, Co-Founder & President GirlsCodeToo

Join us for a conversation on empowering young minds in STEM!

Together with Scilla (Little Scientists Switzerland, STEM education for children) and David (Co-Founder & President, GirlsCodeToo, coding workshops for girls), we’ll explore how early tech education shapes the dreams—and future careers—of tomorrow’s scientists and engineers.

Bring your perspectives and experiences as we discuss:

  • What kind of STEM learning experience do you wish you’d had as a kid?
  • How can we measure the impact of STEM education programs?
  • Why do stereotypes persist in tech, and how do we break them?
  • How can we inspire more diverse young talent to see themselves in STEM?

The dream gap refers to how societal stereotypes and limited representation cause children—especially girls—to doubt their potential and underestimate their future opportunities in fields like STEM.

Hello 50:50 World

Can we really achieve gender equity and diversity in tech if we stay in our feminist bubbles? Do you believe that we can only achieve more equality when everybody is on board? Then join the conversation on diversity in tech at our Hello 50:50 world meetups.

To participate, you’ll need to bring someone with a different perspective (e.g., gender, nationality, etc.) to ensure balanced participation. Both you and your +1 need to get a ticket so we can better manage attendance.
