The prevalence of eating disorders is alarming. Pupils and students are particularly affected. Early detection is crucial, because early interventions improve the prognosis. Often, sufferers don't realize how at risk they are. How can you address someone in such a situation?
The presentation will discuss societal and individual causes as well as different forms of eating disorders. Possibilities for prevention and therapy will be shown. Participants can bring in questions.
About the Speaker
Dr. Dagmar Pauli is Chief Physician of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich. She leads the focus on eating disorders and has been dealing with issues of adolescence for many years. Her research focuses on motivational issues in the treatment of eating disorders and new therapeutic approaches including family-based therapy with home treatment.
