How to run... your own AI Chat

Get to know AI, Docker and containerization in this hands-on workshop! We'll demystify containers, walk through practical examples, and then guide you through setting up OpenWebUI – a powerful, user-friendly, and open-source interface that provides a self-hosted alternative to ChatGPT.

Preparation:
To ensure a smooth start to the workshop, please complete the following beforehand. If you have problems, don’t hesitate to book a student help session.

Laptop: Bring your laptop with you.
Docker Installation: Install Docker on your laptop. The recommended method is Docker Desktop.
Free Space: Ensure you have approximately 10 GB of free space available on your laptop.
Student Account: You will need an active ETH Zurich or UZH student account to participate.
