About this event
As more migrants than ever before cross the globe, the integration of refugees and other immigrants into the new countries’ labour markets and societies has become one of the great challenges and opportunities of our times. Subsequently, in Sweden and elsewhere, many novel methods and tools have been implemented by public, private and non-profit actors to support and manage this integration in better and more efficient ways, many, though, with discouraging outcomes. In this talk, Assoc. Prof. Andreas Diedrich will look closely at some of the important factors that may explain the success or failure of these novel practices.
Andreas Diedrich, Ph.D. is Associate Professor in Management and Organization Studies at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Since 2016, he heads a multidisciplinary research program exploring novel methods for integrating immigrants into the Swedish labour market and including them at workplaces. Andreas is also researching organisational change, innovation and the role of knowledge and technology in management and organisations. His research has appeared in renowned international journals such as Organization Studies, Public Management Review, Journal of Knowledge Management, Organization and Environment, European Management Journal and elsewhere. During the past 17 years Andreas has developed, run, and taught executive education programs. Among other things, he developed an AMBA accredited Executive MBA at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg and directed the program for ten years. Currently he runs customised programs on strategic renewal, communication, and leadership for a large Swedish multination company. After the presentation we will enjoy a buffet dinner and drinks.
