Yes! Dyeing fabrics by co-culturing them with naturally pigment-producing bacteria is an emerging sustainable alternative. Gain hands-on experience in the SPH Life Science Lab and create your very own bacterially dyed fabrics!
In this workshop, you will learn why some bacteria naturally produce pigments and the basics of sterile culturing techniques. You will use this knowledge in the lab to tie-dye your very own take-home foulard (a square silk scarf) using chromogenic bacteria.
No prior lab experience required.

This is an event for ETH students and can host 10 participants. The number of participants is limited to give you personalized support.
