About this event

If we are serious about rethinking global cooperation we have to challenge our current thinking and question taken-for-granted convictions. Our guests of NADEL 50 years will do exactly that.

In our webinar, renowned economist Mariana Mazzucato will be interviewed about public value and reinventing the state in a post-COVID era to shape our economies to have wellbeing and inclusion at the centre of how we create, measure and distribute value.

Mariana Mazzucato (PhD) is Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at University College London (UCL), where she is Founding Director of the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP). In her latest book Mission Economy: A Moonshot Guide to Changing Capitalism (2021) Mariana Mazzucato argues that we must rethink the capacities and role of government within the economy and society, and above all recover a sense of public purpose.
