Turn a Skateboard into art with Zurich-based artist MOMO
About the event:
Join Zurich-based artist and gallery owner MOMO for a playful, creative workshop where you'll transform your old skateboard into a one-of-a-kind art piece. Whether you're a skater, a painter, or just curious, this workshop is all about reusing what you love, expressing your style, and having fun in the process.
No experience needed - just bring an old skateboard and an open mind. (don't worry we'll have a couple of boards for those that don't have their own).
Date:
Sunday 22nd June, 2 - 4 pm
Location:
Basel Art Summer Camp at Hyve Hostel
What to bring:
- An old skateboard deck (used is perfect!)*
- Any paints or markers you love (some materials provided too)
- Clothes you don’t mind getting messy
Let’s sand, paint, and create something rad together. Spots are limited—RSVP and bring a friend!
*as we need to sand and prime the decks, we suggest you bring your skateboard to the hostel early in the week, so we can prime it for you and get straight to painting on Sunday.
To note: there is a max of 8 participants and as we well be spray painting the minimum age requirement is 12 years old
RSVP and bring a friend!
About the Artist: MOMO is a Zurich based visual artist creating colorful works including canvases, skateboards, walls, digital art, sculptures, and designer toys. She'll be joining us for Basel Art Summer Camp. Her striking creations blend playful comic and cartoon elements with a touch of 90s nostalgia, drawing inspiration from music, films, and the world around her. MOMO constantly seeks artistic growth, pushing her boundaries and evolving her style. Her ultimate goal is to dedicate herself to her passion, spreading joy through her art.
Beyond her personal art, MOMO supports the local art scene as the owner of THE LAW, an urban art gallery in Zürich. There, she fosters emerging talent and creates opportunities for artists and creatives to connect and share their work.
