SENSPACE

SENSPACE rethinks the performance space into an intimate, interactive organism of human-machine sensing bodies.

Through discreet sensing interfaces, the smallest thing a listener does can travel through the sensing space and subtly change the sounding environment. Through small reverberations and ripple effects throughout the human-machine feedback loop, listeners uncover an expanding soundscape connecting breath, body, and movement.

ARTISTS:

MIYAMELO (main): Electroacoustic flute duo formed by MELO (Zurich) and MIYA (Tokyo). Each performs with a self-built improvisation machine and sensor-augmented flute augmented with programming and modular synthesizers. The duo acts as a human-machine mirror, bridging Zurich/Tokyo, software/hardware, and tradition/innovation to create exponential expansion beyond each pole. miyamelo.ch

Special Guest (Sat. 15th @16:30): Yuri Matsuzaki is a prominent Japanese flutist specializing in avant-garde music. Winning numerous first prizes at competitions, she performs regularly withEnsemble Modern (Frankfurt) and Contemporary Insights e.V. (Leipzig).
