---The full program and links to online sessions will be posted to ExplorersWeekend.org---Join us either in person or online for an exhilarating afternoon of exploration and discovery at The Explorers Club (TEC) Talks, presented in collaboration with EPFL Club Montagne. This exciting event will be hosted at the EPFL Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne on Fri, Sep 1st 2023, starting at 17:00 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time). Following the mini-lectures, scheduled to conclude around 21:00, participants are invited to continue their exploratory conversations until the EPFL Rolex Learning Center closes its doors at midnight. Prepare to be enthralled and inspired as several explorers take the stage to share their field stories and groundbreaking research. From daring expeditions to the farthest reaches of the world, plunging into the depths of the oceans and up to space and to the forefront of scientific inquiry, these talks will transport you to the very edge of knowledge and ignite your passion for Exploration. The Explorers Club is known for its famous firsts as its members were the first to the Moon (Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin), the first to conquer Mount Everest (Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay), the first to reach the North Pole (Robert Peary, Matthew Henson), the first to reach the South Pole (Roald Amundsen), and the first to explore the deepest point in the ocean's Mariana Trench (Don Walsh, Jacques Piccard). It goes without saying that club members with less visible public profiles are also responsible for extraordinarily important initiatives fostering sustainable development and enhancing the knowledge of humanity. For those eager to indulge in more adventures during that weekend, we propose a High Mountain Skills Building gathering on the Les Diablarets glacier on Sat, Sep 2nd and a relaxed social meetup at the Geneva Polo Club on Sun, Sep 3rd.
