Kilometro Rosso

Kilometro Rosso is one of the leading Italian innovation districts, a place where research and business meet, and which acts as a technology transfer agent. Today, the campus hosts over 80 Resident Partners – companies, laboratories, and research centers – with its 2,500 employees and researchers.

Inaugurated in 2009, Kilometro Rosso and its Resident Partners represent a landmark on the international research and technology transfer scene: 31 laboratories, 50 funded R&D projects for over 185 million Euros, 835 patents filed, 70,000 delegates from all over the world, more than 200 annual events that promote technological innovation with over 23,000 participants and more than 600,000 registrations per year.

In order to facilitate Open Innovation and exchange of knowledge, skills, and experiences of diverse groups, Kilometro Rosso gathers multisectoral initiatives, articulated in the following technology clusters: Higher Education, Advanced Materials, Life Science, Mechanics and Mechatronics, Energy and Sustainability, Engineering, Prototypes and Design, ICT, Advanced Innovation Services.
