American Institute of Applied Sciences

The American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland is one of Switzerland’s leading institutions of higher learning. It is situated in La Tour-de-Peilz on the beautiful shores of Lake Geneva, which is close to the Olympic Capital Lausanne and the city of Geneva, the center for diplomacy. Throughout its 31-year history, AUS has prepared international business students with the knowledge, tools and training of today to be positive contributors to the general management of any business organization of tomorrow.

The partnership between AUS and Tiffin University (TU) in the United States of America, allows AUS students to obtain a Dual Degree in various specializations as well as an opportunity to do an exchange in the United States.

At AUS, we focus on integrating traditional business knowledge with practical decision-making, problem-solving, creativity, and strategic thinking while engaging in real-world projects. We create a learning environment that emphasizes collaboration and team building alongside healthy competition. We recognize that business leaders today must not only master the hard skills needed to make data-driven decisions but also the soft skills needed to make them better collaborators. The curriculum takes the approach of the full development of the individual, placing emphasis on personal as well as professional growth. It prepares students for both a career and for graduate studies. Joining the IBM Academic Initiative and being recognized by Apple as an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education are two strategic collaborations that AUS has made to ensure that it prepares students for the industry of the future.

All courses are taught in English by leading business visionaries in small dynamic cohorts. Our professors have experience in successful business ventures, providing our students with real-life lessons learned and best practices. This background allows our professors to share their challenges and successes with the students, giving them a front-line education focused on experiential and student-centered learning.

Our faculty-student ratio is roughly 1-7, facilitating a deeper working relationship between students and professors coupled with feedback and coaching. Each course integrates a minimum of two experiential learning activities such as simulations, case studies, individual and/or group presentations, and projects.
