Institute for Human Services
Since 1977, the Institute for Human Services (IHS) has supported social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other helping professionals through training, professional development, and organizational consultation. Our work has focused on strengthening the organizations, professionals, and systems responsible for protecting children and supporting families.
Effective November 2026, we have concluded our regular training offerings to focus more fully on our longstanding work in child welfare and child maltreatment policy research, resources, and advocacy. Through the Child Maltreatment Policy Resource Center (CMPRC), we examine critical issues affecting children and families, inform policy and practice through research and analysis, and advance policy approaches that strengthen child protection systems and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
We are grateful to the many dedicated professionals and organizations we have had the privilege of serving over the years. While our approach is evolving, our commitment to advancing the field and improving the systems that serve children and families remains unchanged.
