Seven Sisters Rising| Women’s & Girls’ Hikes
Seven Sisters Rising is an East Sussex wellbeing initiative offering guided wellbeing hikes and nature experiences for women and girls in the iconic Seven Sisters landscape.
Founded by Dr Felicity Butler, with over 25 years’ experience in gender equity, human rights and wellbeing, Seven Sisters Rising creates spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with nature, and reconnect with themselves and what matters most through movement, reflection and conversation.
Rising Women Hikes offer two distinct experiences.
- Walk to Wellbeing provides time and space to reset through guided walks, gentle movement and shared reflection.
- Burnout and the Systems That Shape Us explores why so many women feel overwhelmed and offers practical tools for boundaries, energy and collective care. These experiences recognise that burnout is rarely a personal failure but shaped by wider pressures on women’s lives.
Rising Girl Hikes are designed for girls aged 9–14 as a powerful step away from screens and social pressure. Set along the Seven Sisters cliffs from Cuckmere to Birling Gap, these guided walks weave together stories of trailblazing women, group activities and open conversation. Girls leave feeling calmer, more confident and more connected to themselves and each other.
Seven Sisters Rising also offers bespoke wellbeing walks and events for organisations, supporting staff through meaningful nature-based experiences.
Accessible by public transport from London and across Sussex, including Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Seaford, Lewes, and Eastbourne. Subsidised places are available for unemployed or low-paid women and girls, because no one should be excluded because of cost.
