We're Mike and Parya, the sound practitioners behind Sound Healing Bath in Lethbridge, Alberta. Together we bring more than 20 years of combined experience in music and holistic practice. Parya is a University of Lethbridge music graduate and an internationally performing classical guitarist. Mike is a Vancouver School of Healing Arts massage therapy graduate and a recording drummer, percussionist and composer, with training in hot stones, meditation and music therapy. Across our public and private events, our sound has reached thousands of people who came to lie back, breathe and listen.
A sound bath is simple: you lie down, get cozy and listen. We play live crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bronze bowls, gongs and chimes, and let slow waves of sound invite you into deep rest. No experience is needed. Many people find it helps them relax, quiet a busy mind and let go of tension.
We love bringing sound to some of Lethbridge's calmest and most beautiful spaces. At the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and its Bunka Centre we have hosted seasonal journeys such as Spring Awakening, Echoes of the Sun, Inner Light, The Golden Frequency, The Amber Resonance, our Awakening Chakra Series and our Winter Solstice Sound Bath. We have also gathered under the glass of the Urbane Eight Greenhouse Dome for an Evening Nervous-System Reset, greeted the morning outdoors at Fort Whoop-Up Park, and gone deep with a Gong Harmony sound bath. We enjoy weaving sound with movement and heart, too. Resonance of the Heart was a Valentine's sound journey, and Somatic Release paired guided somatic dance with sound healing. With our friends at Harvest Yoga Studio, Pauline guides a gentle Yin yoga practice before we play, in evenings like our Heart Chakra Yin Yoga + Sound Bath.
Between events we offer crystal bowl and Tibetan bowl evenings, morning sound meditations, and private sound bath sessions for individuals and couples, including a two-hour couple's session.
