Stand Up in the Basement is Southampton’s top comedy club, bringing you unforgettable comedy nights in the heart of Southampton city centre. Established in 2017, we’ve become the go-to destination for comedy enthusiasts, showcasing a mix of rising newcomers and seasoned veterans.

Our show feature top comedians from popular TV shows like Mock The Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Would I Lie To You?, Live at the Apollo, and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. Our stage has hosted stars from Taskmaster, Britain’s Got Talent, and Ricky Gervais’ ‘Derek’, along with big-screen names like Dave Johns (Fishermen’s Friends, I, Daniel Blake) and Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso).

The evening is hosted by our award-winning compere, Colin Owens, who brings his unique blend of charm and wit to the stage. Colin, who has worked with comedy legends like Jimmy Carr and the creators of The Inbetweeners and Mighty Boosh, ensures every show is filled with laughter and fun.​
