The Rising Cities

The Rising Cities brings together the people building a stronger future for their communities. What started as Tacoma Rising has grown into a movement connecting entrepreneurs, business leaders, students, and neighbors around one simple idea: when local people show up for each other, the whole city rises.

Our events are all about community. We celebrate the leaders shaping Tacoma and Pierce County, raise money for the next generation of entrepreneurs, and create spaces where people can connect, have fun, and give back. From the South Sound Showdown chili cook-off to our annual golf tournament and our year-end Toast recognizing community leaders, every gathering is designed to build relationships and invest in our region.

We're especially passionate about young people. Through Future Risers Kickstarter, local high school students team up with entrepreneurs to build real business plans, and proceeds from our events help fund scholarships for the winning teams.

Now expanding to Portland, The Rising Cities is bringing that same spirit to a new community. Follow us to hear about upcoming events and find your way to get involved.

Let’s Complement, Not Compete.
