Creative Chinese Club
Year 2020: the seed
The seed of the Creative Chinese Club was planted during the pandemic. Stuck in her flat in London, Minji Xu collaborated with over 100 speakers for online cultural storytelling. From NASA space missions to medieval lacemaking, from how to make tea in Japan to how to shower in Brazil, these wonderful talks inspired a global community during an uncertain time.
Connecting with people and exploring the world helped Minji understand her Chinese culture and language heritage within a global picture.
Creative Chinese Club, a community that makes learning Chinese fun and grows global citizens, sprouted from that seed.
Year 2022: the soil
Minji collaborated with education and linguistic experts to design the best language learning experience. Professor Larry Herzberg introduced the Suzuki philosophy with his 40+ years of experience teaching Chinese to American students.
The SUZUKI™ Method is based on the principle that all children possess ability that can be developed and enhanced through a nurturing environment.
This became the soil of our teaching philosophy: a nurturing learning environment where students can learn, make mistakes, grow, and progress.
Year 2024: the bridge
We kept on learning, growing and innovating.
Seeing how kids love connecting with their peers, we have established our digital pen pal program. This program lets young learners interact with native Chinese-speaking kids through online cultural events, recorded videos, and digital letters. We built bridges of trust.
