First Swiss musicians at MTV Unplugged

To date they have performed in more than 160 shows on three continents (Africa, Asia and Europe). Through her growing community on social media, 220,000 followers have taken Dust of Soul to Tunisia in 2013, to the Sultanate of Oman in the Middle East in 2016, and to India in 2019, where exciting music projects and fusions with other artists have emerged. Four years after their founding, Dust of Soul received an honor from the Swiss Federal President at the time, Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, for their “International Cultural Exchange” initiative and their musical work as Swiss musicians abroad. In 2017, MTV India Unplugged presents the “sensational duo” as the opening act for Bollywood superstar Ayushmann Khurrana at the biggest stage in Oman - the Qurum Amphitheater in Muscat. Dust of Soul are the first Swiss musicians to appear for “MTV Unplugged”. They are also the first Swiss musicians to be invited to the Arabic breakfast television show “Qahwat Alsabah” on Oman TV for a detailed live interview with translation into Arabic, followed by a musical performance.

Song for the Sultan of Oman

Another career highlight happens in 2018: a performance for the royal family of Oman with the Dust of Soul song COLOR OF OMAN, dedicated to Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The performance takes place on “Oman National Day”, the Sultan's birthday, in the Muscat Amphitheater accompanied by 20 Omani musicians. This performance on Oman National Day is a great honor for Swiss musicians. Because of this and Dust of Soul's involvement in Oman, they receive an award from the “Girija Baqer Art Foundation” for their contribution to the world of music. A few months later, Dust of Soul travel to India for a music video shoot with Hindi rapper Mc Siddu and The Dharavi Dream Project Mumbai, a music project in collaboration with “Universal Music India” to get children and youth off the streets and keep them away from drug deals and give support through music education. The music video is shot in the middle of Mumbai's largest slum, the Dharavi, and reaches an audience of half a million. Back in Switzerland, Dust of Soul reach the top 10 in the national final of 28,000 artists from all over Europe at the largest European music competition “Tour Music Fest 2019”. The Berklee College of Music in Boston comments on her performance: “Outstanding artistic fashion style. Outstanding stage presence. Extremely descriptive. Very interactive.” A few weeks later, Dust of Soul received the nomination for a crystal award.

“Best Originality” at Los Angeles Music Video Awards

With their most elaborate show to date, “BACK TO THE FUTURE”, Dust of Soul are celebrating their anniversary in October 2022 with international and national acts at SCALA Zofingen. To mark the occasion, Swiss culture magazine “NAZAR” is publishing a special edition at newspaper kiosks throughout Switzerland, dedicated to “10 years Dust ofSoul” and their future vision: “Sustainable Music – Positive Music Power”. This year their music video LOST is selected as “Best Originality” at the Los Angeles “Music Video Awards 2023”. In honor of this award, a special unplugged version of LOST is released, recorded live at the music video screening in the cinema in Lucerne (CH).
